Love / Wedding Smash book: Tickets

Thursday, March 28, 2013

Here's a few more pictures from my Love / Wedding smash book. Be sure to look at the previous ones I've posted here. We spend a lot of time in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, TN. This page documents our first trip to Gatlinburg, the first time I ate at Bubba Gump's, and the first time I saw a bear at a hotel!!

I always try to keep our admission tickets and other memorabilia when we travel. I've collected a bunch from different attractions in Gatlinburg, TN and thought I'd share them here.  I enjoy looking at them in a book rather than digging through a box!

On the left page, I have tickets and a gold coin from the Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum, a flyer from Ole Smoky Moonshine, and a napkin from the Melting Pot. This page is a work in progress. I have plenty of room to add more later. On the right is a picture folder that opens.

Here's the picture folder opened up. Inside are the tickets for the Ober Gatlinburg Sky Lift. On the front cover of the picture folder, I have tickets to the Ripley's Aquarium and a Mirror Maze. The picture is from dinner somewhere in Gatlinburg.

I like to keep our scorecards when we go play putt putt. We tend to cheat and have a lot of do-overs on golfing and somehow our scores end up being even ;)

What do you do with all of your tickets and memorabilia?

Project Life Week 10

Tuesday, March 26, 2013

Here's Week 10 of Project Life. This week came together very quickly - I love it when that happens! I'm still working on taking more horizontal pictures, and this week I did better than I usually do. I had a great day off running errands, Joe made us dinner, it snowed, we visited my parents, and I continued working on my 30 Lists in 30 Days project. I made another collage picture to show my completed pages.

Left Side: I love the text messages my husband sends me, so I decided to include one from this week.

My Day Off - I used one of my favorite pieces of Amy Tangerine paper for this one.

Smash Your Stash: Bonus Challenge

Monday, March 25, 2013

Since I was on vacation, I'm a little behind on completing the challenges in the Smash Your Stash facebook group... but better late than never, right?

This was a bonus challenge and you had to use green, gold, and a rainbow. I printed 3 pictures from St. Patrick's Day. My mom took the pictures when we stopped over at her house after watching Oz, the Great and Powerful. It took a few tries to get a good picture.

Close-up of the 3 pictures - on the left, I'm making crazy eyes; on the right, Joe is moving around, and in the middle is the good picture! There was already from writing on the page. I put an October Afternoon 'love' sticker over top of 'like'.

I cut out the "luck" card on my Silhouette Cameo. I plan on using another one (sized down to 4x3) in my Project Life book.

Close up of the journaling. I cut out the shamrock border on my Silhouette Cameo.

Project Life Week 9

Thursday, March 21, 2013

Week 9 was a fun week. I had bought Joe and my mom some Girl Scout cookies and Joe was pretty excited when I got the delivery this week. I went shopping for vacation clothes, started on #30lists, and had a fun Friday (slept in, had lunch with Mom, shopping, and Casa Mexicana for dinner). I really needed the extra sleep on Friday - my partner at work was sick and coudn't come in for her shift on Thursday night. I ended up working two 14-hour shifts in a row. I don't mind it every now and then, but it sure makes me remember how much I don't like working 2 long shifts in a row!

This is the first time I've used Design E from Becky Higgins. I love it!

I still like bingo cards :)

I'm still including a "Currently" card each week.

I used Diptic again to make a collage. I wanted to include my #30lists project but didn't want it to take up a lot of room each week.

I was super excited to find 2 dresses and a skirt for vacation!

30 Days of Lists: March 9 - 16, 2013

Tuesday, March 19, 2013

So I had a little bit of catching up to do on #30lists since I was on vacation. I did not do any crafting while I was out of town... I just kept the daily email and made my lists when I got back. I wasn't so inspired by the pages in my SMASHbook this go around... if I do #30lists again, I think I'll make up a new page each day so they will coordinate (or at least make sense!) Anyways, onto the lists!

Day 9: My "ought do" list. I checked off the ones I actually did that day.

#30lists, 30 days of lists

Day 10: I'm craving... this one was easy because we left for vacation that day.

#30lists, 30 days of lists

Day 11: Things I do every morning.

#30lists, 30 days of lists

Day 12: Things I do every evening

30 days of lists

Day 13: My causes

30 days of lists

Day 14: Role models

30 days of lists

Day 15: Ways I save money

Project Life Week 8

Monday, March 18, 2013

Week 8 was a fun week. I got a mani and a pedi, had my first cookies and cream milkshake from Chik-fil-A (I know, what took me so long??), did some shopping at Target, and we went to Greenville, SC for an RV show. We tried tofu at Whole Foods, went shopping at REI, and ate dinner at Ruth's Chris. Joe went back to the ortho doctor and was told that there isn't anything he can do about his finger.

We also stayed on the 6th floor (top floor) at the hotel. When we got in the elevator, the 6th floor required the room key for access. Penthouse!! lol

I really like these little frames from Michael's Creative Chaos line. I added a phrase from Heidi Swapp.

I took this picture of my hubby when he wasn't looking. It was too cold for me to pump gas, so he followed me to the gas station before work and filled up my tank.

This week I tried a new technique for me - adding text to a photo before printing. I used Diptic.

It was a surprise to open up the hotel soap and see this message:

I also used Diptic to make a little collage of the RV show. I didn't take as many pictures as I should have!

Jamaica - Instagram Style!

Sunday, March 17, 2013

Well, we're back from paradise (Negril, Jamaica). We had an awesome time on vacation, but it's always good to be home! Here's a few of my favorite pictures from the trip.

Us on the plane, ready to go! (5:30am)

We had some breakfast in Charlotte during our layover - as Cinnabon says, "life needs frosting"

We're here!

Fun swings in the lobby:

This was the view from our room:

We rented a cabana on our anniversary (Tuesday, March 12):

The sunset is beautiful in Negril. We watched it every evening. This picture is from our table at the Beach Bistro.

The only beer at the resort:

We hung out under some palm trees almost every day at the resort. Nice and shady, but of course I still got burnt!

We ate at an Italian restaurant one night.

I ate seafood! (actually more than once)

This was our last night at the resort. We went to a Japanese steakhouse.

Fun trip. Now I can't decide whether to just do some inserts in my Project life book or to do a mini album. Suggestions?

This time last year: Project Life SMASH book March 2012

Saturday, March 16, 2013

Here's the March 2012 SMASHbook version of Project Life that I did last year. Although I tried to take note of the 'little things' that happened each month, March is one of the months where I highlighted a big trip we took - our first anniversary trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica!

I thought it was pretty cool that this map page ended up being right where I wanted to start March. It was perfect for international travel. I included a note with our flight information.

project life smash book

I tried a new technique for these pages. I scattered the pictures all over the page, then numbered them. I used a page from a SMASH pad and made a list of things we did while in Jamaica.

project life smash book

While we were at the resort, we did a photo shoot so I picked 3 of our favorite pictures on this page. Below that, these are 3 random photos from the trip. On the right side, I documented our day in a cabana. We had a fabulous view and butler service all day long. When we got back from the trip, we tasted the top tier of our wedding cake. Mom had wrapped it up for us after the wedding and did a pretty good job - although the cake was crumbly, it was surprisingly yummy!
